Welcome!
Our Spanish program is a FLEX program; Foreign Language with Exploration. Our goals are to develop an interest in foreign language, learn basic words and phrases, develop listening skills, develop cultural awareness as well as linguistic awareness.
The grade breakdown is as follows: 40% participation, 30% for assignments, 20% for test and 10% for quizzes. There is a large emphasis on participation, because it is important that the student participates in class to gain the ability to have proper pronunciation and intonation of the language. Assignments are primarily done in class; if for some reason the student does not complete the assignment, they are expected to do it for homework. Throughout the year will use the textbook, "Discover Spanish."
The following will be the curriculum that is planned for the year. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. I would love to hear from you.
